INAUGURATION OF
CIVIL DEFENCE AMBULANCE SERVICE ON 3rd April, 2003

INTRODUCTION :
Civil Defence Organisation is a voluntary organisation under the
Ministry of Home Affairs of the Country. Civil Defence organisation inform the people as
for enemy air raid, rescue the trapped persons, render first aid to the victim on the spot
and detect and put out the fire generally at the time of War and natural calamities.
2.
NIGHT AMBULANCE SERVICE OF CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISATION
Civil Defence Organisation, Tripura has for the first time, launched Night
Ambulance Service in the areas of Agartala Cat-II, CD Town on and from 3rd
April, 2003.
Shri Manik Sarkar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Tripura flagged off and inaugurated
the Night Ambulance Service at 5 PM on 3rd April 2003 from in-front of the
Secretariate Complex, Agartala.
Among others, Shri V.Thulasidas, Chief Secretary Tripura, Shri Mathew Jahn,
Director General of Police, Tripura, Shri N.Sinha, Special Secretary, Home, Officers of
Civil Defence and District Administration and CD volunteers were present in the inaugurate
function.

DESCRIPTION OF NIGHT AMBULANCE SERVICE.
Civil Defence organisation, Tripura for the first time, launched the Ambulance
Service to serve the people of the Agartala city and its sub-urban areas. On getting the
message/information over telephone or by person from the injured/ affected/ patient
parties, the Civil Defence volunteers with the Ambulance shall rush to the spot and take
the patient/casualties to the hospital.
